Also known as…
Oldest grandchild has just figured out that people can have nicknames, and that The Rookie gives some folks a nickname, and that The Rookie has given grandchild a cool nickname… it hasn’t always worked out that well :-)
Major milestone day
The Rookie shouts Hallelujah! as grandchild sang in church for the first time today in the 4-year-old choir :-)
Eeny meeny minee moe…
It seemed fortunate for the large bathroom outside a 1200-seat auditorium to be empty when The Rookie had to assist grandchild, but then the stall selection process began :-)
Most pleasing…
Based on his very occasional experience, The Rookie has always thought being a single parent is the hardest job on earth. May God be pleased and proud of those single parents who take their kids to church and raise them in the faith.
The wheels are churning…
The Rookie has noticed that there is still no video game invented that is as entertaining as whatever is going on in a grandchild’s head. :-)
Do the locomotion…
The Rookie suddenly realized grandchild is not named after a sitcom character just as payback from Mom for naming her after a soap opera character… it’s a locomotion connection :-)
A necessity revisited…
Yet another unexpected grandchild-related expense: The Rookie needs a hair brush in his car again :-)
Gloriously unfiltered…
The Rookie has seen the love and life that comes from the grandchildren poured over the G-Grandparents as well… one more awesome blessing :-)
& this is why…
Bathrooms have doors with locks so grandchild cannot visit The Rookie sitting on the toilet and take away his tablet :-)
Just the same…
When The Rookie filled in for Mom during Wednesday night supper and children’s choir, the night would not have been complete without filling out the injury incident report. :-)
A little ice was all the treatment needed… although the experience of not being quick enough to prevent the little hand from getting sucked into the elevator door, reacting to quickly jerk it out before more damage was done, and the various emotional responses and praise and thanks for this minimal impact to your grandchild is exactly the same as it would be for your child.
