Watchin’ the Parade
Tip from The Rookie: Attend parades with grandchildren, watch them scavenge for candy like Hunger Games participants, then filter some of the good pieces out while they are emptying their bag. Gotta eat it quick though before getting caught :-)

Teenager on the Growth Chart
The Rookie updated the Grandchild Growth Chart below. Power Ranger is still trending above the scale and Cookie is hanging with him. Flash is hitting the teenager growth spurt, but Skeeter and Reo are close to him too.

Blowin’ bubbles
The Rookie gets whipped by the grandchildren in every non-sports video game, but is still the only one who can blow bubble gum bubbles and that is MUCH cooler. :-)
To infinity and beyond!
#3 wants to be an astronaut! Fortunately, The Rookie knows where the rockets are kept and where you go to learn how to fly them… and hopefully, The Rookie will get to ride down #3 Boulevard someday. :-) #WarEagle

Got the music in me…
The Rookie doesn’t have much in common with #5, but we are both captured by the music. :-)
That’s my Pi…
The Rookie was glad to have Grandson #2’s little hands, young eyes and big brain for Raspberry Pi assembly, but not so much after we got it running and he saw that it had Minecraft and graphical programming tools. The Pi is supposed to be The Rookie’s toy. :-)

Growing away…
The Rookie updated the Grandchild Growth Chart below. Cookie continues to lead her brothers on the curve, and it’s getting more statistically firm. Power Ranger is still trending above the scale, but Flash and Reo are moving up too.

Like old times…
The Rookie was tasked to take near-teen Grandchild #1 to a party…
On the way to the truck “I need $10” (Mom had already informed on that)… handed that over.
Getting out of the truck at the party “I need a mask”… gave up the spare.
After letting him out “Aren’t you going to check me in?” Nope, they’re in the yard, I’m waving, go have fun. :-)
Am I better?
Grandson #4 is learning how to spin the Razor…
The Rookie: Wow, you’re spinning like Grandson #2 used to spin it!
Grandson #4: Am I doing it better than he did?
The Rookie: Well, go one more time and we’ll record it :-)
Runaway train…
The Rookie got out the Mexican Train Dominos to play with the grandchildren and had to create a new rule… All trains must remain in the station and not run down the domino tracks until the end of each game :-)
