Stay loose…
Tip from The Rookie: You never know when walking into a room with grandchildren if they are doing the Hot Dog Dance… stay loose and be ready :-)
Armored up…
Tip from The Rookie: If someone finally invents some light body armor to protect against grandchild elbows, buy it. Pay double if spit-up repellant is included :-)
Patience…
As The Rookie is older now, he can patiently (sort of) await the first non-freezing, dry Saturday where the grandparents and grandchildren can be together outside to properly decorate our #Auburn tree. Granny was ready to do it right after the Kick Six :-) #WarEagle

The Nutcracker…
The Rookie was the first one to know that third grandchild had his first tooth through the feeling of a knuckle being caught in a nutcracker :-)
Worshiping…
The Rookie had never felt so much like a worship leader as when the 3-year-old grandchild started clapping along with the choir :-) #AnotherAwesomeBlessing
So lively and quick…
The Rookie got to read “The Night before Christmas” the other night to the 5 and 3-year-old grandchildren… that excitement and anticipation is a wonderful elixir :-)
Remain focused…
Tip from The Rookie: Don’t get distracted by a hurt grandchild and forget to ask why he doesn’t have pants on… you may find out too late that he needed his behind wiped too after he is calm again and climbs down from your knee :-)
Sparking…
Tip from The Rookie: Nothing causes a spark at the nursing home like a (great) grandbaby visit… not to mention a wheelchair traffic jam :-)
Peer to peer…
Tip from The Rookie: When you’re in the same peer group as the jolly old elf, it means you have reached an advanced state of maturity :-)

Twice the fun…
The Rookie was blessed this week to see two grandchildren singing in their church program for the first time :-)
