VBS Bumpers
The Rookie shot bumpers for the Seshin Church English VBS starring the next-gen. :-)
Team-building…
Ingredients for a Team-building experience for The Rookie came from sharing a toilet with the two older grandsons… an element of risk followed by a sense of accomplishment. :-)
Too High?
Aunt Gigi got a response from Grandson #2 on the swingset that The Rookie has never heard… “Too High”. Didn’t see how high was too high, but he must have looped over the crossbar :-)
Play the playa :-)
The Rookie observes that 11 months is the age where the baby grandchild will begin to help his older brothers play on the tablet… but the baby is playing his brothers more than the game :-)
At least keep score…
Tip from The Rookie: When you want the grandchild to play basketball with you and all he wants to do is color a picture, you can drag him and his crayons out in the driveway and he can help you keep score when you play 21. :-)
Let’s Play!
The Rookie is not understanding the appeal in watching a video of someone else playing a video game, but does have to say that it keeps the grandchildren occupied. :-)
Taking turns…
Tip from The Rookie: When you start taking turns letting one grandson spend the night on Saturday night, don’t assume that letting one spend the night on Friday night means that Saturday night is now available for rest and relaxation… can you say “It’s my turn tonight!” :-)
From the balcony…
The Rookie’s new favorite beach activity is singing the grandbaby to sleep from the balcony with worship songs :-)
Ba-ba-ba bird, bird, bird
The oldest grandson was wearing an Angry Birds “Bird is the Word” shirt tonight, so The Rookie was naturally led to sing the song, and so we had to find it on the computer… big fun! :-)
Rolling blessing..
Tip from The Rookie: We found a blessing block at the G-Grandparents house and brought it home. Now we roll the block at mealtime and say the blessing together. Gets the grandchildren a little more engaged. :-)
