Not even evidence…
The Rookie is wondering what is the benefit of a childproof device that grandchild #3 can both remove and replace. :-)
Golf-watchin’
The Rookie is normally being worn out by grandchild #3 as he seems to be the one most into everything. However, #3 is the one who will sit next to The Rookie and watch golf for awhile before he falls asleep… just before The Rookie does :-)
Kitchen water?
The Rookie was at the kitchen sink getting a glass of water when he heard a horrified “What are you doing?” from grandson #1.
The Rookie replied “I’m getting some water”, and grandson asked (still horrified and a little louder) “Why?”. The Rookie then confusingly replied “Because this is where water comes from?”
The Rookie was then informed “No, water comes from the front of the refrigerator.” :-)
What did I do?
The Rookie broke his game face and busted out laughing when grandchild #3 set off the alarm in the elevator… guess who got in trouble with Mom? :-)
Next-gen leading!
The Rookie was part of an Advent candle lighting for the first time today.
First, The Rookie and Reo spoke and then announced each candle… Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love, which were lit by Granny and Power Ranger, Flash, Skeeter and Mom. Then, Mom read from Zephaniah and Flash said the prayer.
The Rookie envisioned a worst case scenario of church on fire with viral video for the nightly news, and a best case scenario of a reverent moment that set the tone for the rest of the worship service. The next-gen did Great! and honored the Lord! God is Good!
It’s not red?
The Rookie has his first truck and first non-red vehicle in 39 years, but is still trying to hang on to the top-down tradition. Where is that ’72 Cadillac convertible when you are finally old enough to drive one? :-)

After The Rookie “helps” grandchild #2 assemble Lego cars, he has to go check his engineering diplomas for reaffirmation, cause #2 has some serious visualization skills :-)
He knew the words…
The Rookie and Granny took grandsons #2 and #4 to early church this morning and #2 was singing along to one of the songs (One Thing Remains). At lunch we said that #2 was singing along with a song in church because he knew the words, and #1 said “Did we sing Shake it Off in church today?” :-)
